Professor in the Chair of Cultural History at the Loránda Eötvös University in Budapest. He also lectures in the Central European Studies Centre, part of the Institute of Slavic and Eastern European Studies in the Faculty of Philosophy at Charles University in Prague. In 2009 the International Cultural Centre in Krakow published a volume of his essays and sketches entitled Lekcja Europy Środkowej (A Lesson in Central Europe).
