An urban geographer by training, has worked in the fields of urban history and education. He has taught for many years at the Institut Barri Bes\u00f2s and has been invited professor in Seminario de Historia de Barcelona and the HGKZ (Hochschule f\u00fcr Gestaltung und Kunst Z\u00fcrich). He also teached on the Independent Studies Programme at MACBA (Museu d\u2019Art Contemporani de Barcelona \u2013 Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art) and has been the director of the \u201cUrban Majorities Project, 1900-2025\u201d in the Fundaci\u00f3 Antoni T\u00e0pies. Since 2007, he is the director of MUHBA, the Barcelona History Museum. His research focuses mainly on urban, social and cultural changes in the contemporary city, since the beginning of industrialization. He published the series Model Barcelona, quaderns de gesti\u00f3 and he has also edited many volumes of the series BCN Bibliteca Hist\u00f2rica and written books and articles on the development of Barcelona, among them L\u2019organitzaci\u00f3 de l\u2019espai a Catalunya <\/em>(1985), El futur de les perif\u00e8ries urbanes<\/em> (1994), La Mina, l\u00edmits administratius, segregraci\u00f3 social i renovaci\u00f3 urbana<\/em> (2003) or Intervenci\u00f3n arqueol\u00f3gica, discurso hist\u00f3rico y monumentalizaci\u00f3n en Barcelona <\/em>(2010).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-2392","autor","type-autor","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
