  1. Exhibition “Lud\u011bk Marold for Fliegende Bl\u00e4tter” at Trade Fair Palace in Prague from 15.02 to 02.06 2024<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Graphic Arts Cabinet presents drawings created by Lud\u011bk Marold in the second half of the 1890s for the Munich humour magazine Fliegende Bl\u00e4tter. The full-page anecdote was regarded among the artistically most demanding types of illustration featured in this paper. Marold\u2019s prevalently watercolour and gouache compositions were full-fledged works of art that engravers subsequently transposed into xylographs with the utmost attention and care.<\/p>\n

    1. Exhibition “Anton\u00edn Karel Balzer: The Krkono\u0161e-Adr\u0161pach Cycle” at Trade Fair Palace in Prague from 15.02 to 02.06 2024<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      The series of prints depicting 24 views of the Krkono\u0161e Mountains and Adr\u0161pach Rocks created by the graphic artist Anton\u00edn Karel Balzer (1771\u2060\u2013\u20601807) constitutes a pioneering work of 19th-century Czech landscape painting. For the first time, central attention was given to the landscape and its natural wonders admired in the individual images by figures that provide a scale to the vastness and grandeur of the surrounding natural scenery.<\/p>\n
