Art and Heritage in Central Europe<\/h1>

Studies devoted to the history of art, as well as most museum galleries, present a long-established canon of “great artists”. Among Polish artists of the 19th and first half of the 20th centuries, women are represented, apart from Olga Bozna\u0144ska, by only a few female painters. Meanwhile, several hundred educated women were involved in artistic activity at that time – painters, graphic artists, sculptors, creators of crafts, design and architecture. Their legacy was forgotten for various, sometimes not obvious reasons, and a false conviction about its banality or even non-existence prevailed in the public consciousness.<\/p>\n

The aim of the exhibition is to show the significance of the work of women of the 19th and first half of the 20th centuries in artistic life. The Lublin Castle (National Museum in Lublin) presents several hundred works of art created by 133 artists active in Poland and abroad, including: Olga Bozna\u0144ska, Zofia Stryje\u0144ska, Mela Muter, Alicja Halicka, Anna Bili\u0144ska, Magdalena Gross, Anna Rajecka, Katarzyna Kobro, Aniela Paj\u0105k\u00f3wna, Ewa \u0141unkiewicz Rogoyska, Ma\u0142gorzata \u0141ada-Maci\u0105gowa, Wanda Che\u0142mo\u0144ska, Estera Karp, Dora Bianka and Teresa Roszkowska. The works gathered at the exhibition come from private and museum collections, from Poland, France and Luxembourg. A significant part of the works have not been exhibited before.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is available until October 5, 2025.
