Art and Heritage in Central Europe<\/h1>

After nearly twenty years, the exhibition of Jan Zrzav\u00fd is returning to the Tel\u010d State Chateau. The most modern exhibition spaces of the chateau gallery will showcase a selection of more than thirty of his works, including pieces that have not been publicly displayed for a long time. The revival of the Jan Zrzav\u00fd exhibition in Tel\u010d was made possible thanks to the initiative of the National Heritage Institute in cooperation with the National Gallery Prague.<\/p>\n

Exhibiting his works specifically in Tel\u010d was a\u00a0personal wish of Jan Zrzav\u00fd himself\u2014one of the most renowned artists of the 20th century and a\u00a0co-founder of Czech modern art. The Renaissance town of Tel\u010d served as a\u00a0source of inspiration for him. His connection to the town deepened after meeting then-castellan Bohumil Norek Sr., who, during a\u00a0tour of the chateau, showed him the statue of Adam located in the main courtyard. The statue\u2019s resemblance to Zrzav\u00fd inspired a\u00a0charming photograph of the painter gazing at his \u201cchateau double.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Jan Zrzav\u00fd Gallery at the Tel\u010d Chateau originally opened in 1988\u00a0and, until 2007, displayed a\u00a0permanent exhibition of around fifty of his works. After almost 20\u00a0years, Jan Zrzav\u00fd\u2019s art is now returning to the chateau, this time in fully renovated spaces that meet the highest standards for gallery exhibitions.<\/p>\n

The exhibition, titled “A Dream of Reality: Paintings by Jan Zrzav\u00fd from the Collections of the National Gallery Prague”, will open to the public on July 22\u00a0and will be accessible year-round, in accordance with the chateau\u2019s operating schedule.<\/p>\n
