Art and Heritage in Central Europe<\/h1>

The fourth edition of the Biennale Matter of Art presents art as a necessity that our society cannot do without. The three-month exhibition and accompanying program, subtitled “Necessary Wishes”, will take place from June 12 to September 13, 2026, at the National Gallery Prague \u2013 Trade Fair Palace, GAMPA \u2013 City Gallery Pardubice, and the Tusculum Prague art center. The biennale will feature more than thirty artists and collectives from Czechia, Poland, Ukraine, Georgia, Palestine, Slovakia, and other countries, including six new projects commissioned by the biennale and created by artists Noor Abed, David Apakidze, Yana Bachynska (a.k.a. Jan Ba\u010dynsjkyj), Adri\u00e1n Kri\u0161ka, Aliza Orlan, and Tadamun Kolektiv. The project is cocurated by Jaroslava Tomanov\u00e1, Jakub Gawkowski, and Franti\u0161ek Fekete. Admission to the exhibition and accompanying events is free of charge. The biennale is organized by tranzit.cz in cooperation with the National Gallery Prague and GAMPA \u2013 City Gallery Pardubice. The main partner of tranzit.cz is ERSTE Foundation.<\/p>\n
