INDUCTION LOOPS
Installed induction loops are available at:
The reception desk, The gallery and bookstore service desk and The library.
PHYSICAL BARRIERS
Most communication routes in the building are barrier-free, except for:
Three steps leading to the cloakroom, Two steps leading to the conference room platform, Two steps in the panoramic conference room (fifth floor, annex), sStairs to the bridge connecting two parts of the building (third floor, main building / fourth floor, annex).
ELEVATORS
All other spaces are accessible from the ground/ground level via two passenger lifts located in the main building and in the annexe. These can be used to access all usable floors, i.e. the Gallery, the Library, and the historic basement. In front of the lifts there are manoeuvring spaces of adequate size.
TOILETS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
There are three toilets for people with disabilities in the building (first floor – Gallery, ground floor – foyer of the Conference Hall, and Library – third floor of the annexe). They have the required size and manoeuvring space.
SUPPORT
Due to the considerable size of the building and the numerous passageways – the space can be difficult to navigate independently (especially for visually impaired and blind people). To this end, our staff provide support in moving around the building – please advise us of this need by approaching the gatehouse, which is located approximately 15m into the corridor, on the right-hand side. In order to make it easier to reach the gatehouse, a guided path has been installed, which starts behind the entrance door to the building.
REST AREAS
In spaces requiring significant distances to be covered (main entrance, hall), the building has rest areas: chairs (with armrests to make it easier to get up or change).
TOTUPOINT
A TOTUPOINT navigation and information system has been installed in the building to aid the spatial orientation of visually impaired people. It consists of eight markers placed in the building space, which, by emitting sound, inform the user of their position. A list of markers with descriptions of the space can be found HERE.
