Two Prints Exhibitions at the Traid Fair Palace in Prague
Art and Heritage in Central Europe
Currently there are two new prints exhibitions on the 4th floor of the Trade Fair Palace (National Gallery in Prague) as a part of the exhibition “1796–1918: Art of the Long Century”, both available from 12 August to 23 October 2025:
- “The History of Bohemia in Pictures II” – The most significant cycle of prints depicting Bohemian history was initiated by Antonín Machek and, beginning in 1820, many important and overlooked Czech artists, including Josef Führich and Václav Mánes, gradually worked on it. The cabinet will present selected images from this extensive body of work in two variations.
Read more: https://www.ngprague.cz/en/event/4433/the-history-of-bohemia-in-pictures-ii - “William Turner – The Graphic Series Liber Studiorum” – Prints by the celebrated English painter, one of the founders of modern landscape painting, represent a lesser-known aspect of his work. Created between 1806 and 182, these natural scenes rendered in the techniques of etching and aquatint show the artist’s various concepts of the landscape – from traditionally composed views to strikingly modern interpretations.
