Dan Lungu
A Romanian writer and the director of the Museum of Romanian Literature in Jassy. He holds a postdoctoral degree from the Sorbonne in Paris and worked as editor at Au Sud del’Est, a Paris magazine. His novel I Am an Old Communist Hag was twice nominated to the Jean Monnet European Award. The author got nominated to the semi-finals of the Angelus Central European Literary Award “Angelus 2010” for the Polish translation of the book. It was also was adapted for the screen by Stere Gulei and the film was premiered in Romania in August 2013. Dan Lungu gives lectures in sociology at A.I. Cuza University in Jassy. He is the originator and organiser of the International Festival of Literature and Translation in Jassy.
