Detlef Kurth
Prof. Dr., Urban Planner, grew up and studied urban planning in West Berlin. Between 1992 to 1997 he worked at the planning office Dubach, Kohlbrenner Berlin. Between 1997 to 2003 he taught and researched as an academic assistant at the University of Dortmund, faculty of spatial planning (Prof. Zlonicky). Since 2003 he has been professor and study Dean at the University of Applied Sciences, Stuttgart, Masters programme of Urban Planning. He gives annual guest lectures and international workshops at the partner universities TU Krakow and Cardiff University. His research fields are urban planning theories, urban regeneration, energy efficient cities and sustainable development. He is a member of the Academy of Urban Design (DASL), member of the editorial board of “PlanerIn” (a journal of association of urban planning SRL), and a consultant for cities such as Stuttgart, Ludwigsburg, Gelsenkirchen and Munich.
