Art and Heritage in Central Europe
For the first time ever the National Gallery Prague exhibits a part of the Kaeru-An Collection – literally the “Collection from the Frog’s Hut” – which presents Japanese Zen painting and calligraphy from the seventeenth to the twentieth centuries. This unique collection of Zen art was donated to the National Gallery Prague in 2019 by the Dutch artist and collector Felix Hess. The exhibition is open at Salm Palace from 27 May and will run to 4 December.
Curators: Markéta Hánová a Jana Ryndová
The exhibition is accompanied by the catalogue “Zenga – Japanese Zen Paintings from the Kaeru-An Collection”, which is in Czech with an English summary, and the monograph “Seeing Zen – Zenga from the Kaeru-An Collection” in English.
